Tallinn

April 6, 2010

I never even took the camera out of the bag during the whole trip - all the photos are from the phone.

The first photo shows a bar window. The bar is called "Bar with No Name".

You can look endlessly at the signs above the shops and cafes in the old town. Someday I will specifically set myself the goal of spending a whole day walking around and looking at them: they are all different, interesting, and very often unusual.

There is a birch tree growing inside a shopping center. Or maybe not growing - we never figured out whether it was real. But it looked very, very real.

Just like in Ukraine, you can use whatever you want as a license plate number.

In Narva, inside a shopping center, there is a Narva Castle built from LEGO under glass. About a meter by a meter by a meter.

In all stores and cafes, all prices are duplicated in euros. Soon Estonian kroons will become history. I was not planning to spend money at all (apart from the cash euros I had brought with me). But when, on the way back, I looked at the bank's view of my weekend in Tallinn, I was of course a little stunned. I had not gone drinking like that for quite a while :)
