Weather in Saint Petersburg

The radar image from the Belarusian site meteoinfo.by keeps being closed and opened again - no stability at all. Here is the correspondence with Roshydromet explaining why this data is prohibited from viewing in Russia.

Since October 1, 2018, FSBI Aviamettelekom of Roshydromet no longer provides Belhydromet with RUSP radar data - Pulkovo weather radar, Saint Petersburg, Russia.
We suggest using an alternative source of radar information - radareu.cz.

A week ago this notice was still there, and now - November 22, 2018 - even this comment has been removed; now it simply says: "RUSP? No such radar!" A great pity. The weather phenomena map from the Belarusian meteorologists was the most convenient and attractive of the available ones.

Pay attention to how current the date and time are on the right side of the radar map.

Short-term forecast from the Germans (the only ones you can rely on).

Note that they also have weather forecasts for other European cities.

Briefly, the pros and cons

The main advantage, perhaps (if it can even be considered an advantage, rather than something expected from a forecast by default), is truthfulness. At least for the next day the forecast comes true, and I remember literally only a few mistakes over the year while using the site every day. The second advantage is the high level of detail. It separately describes, first, different aspects of the weather, and second, the time step is fairly frequent - every six hours. There is only one drawback for me: the forecast is shown in German. And much of it still remains a mystery to me. In this connection I appeal to readers: if you suddenly know something that is not described below but is present on the chart, please write in the comments.

Description of the charts

I advertise this weather forecast to other people quite often. And I am writing all this simply because I am tired of constantly explaining how to read this picture.

The first chart is pressure. The 1010 mark is about 760 millimeters of mercury. If pressure rises, clouds most likely give way to clear weather; and vice versa.

The second chart is wind. I have not yet found a household use for this forecast.

The third chart is temperature. Here I should mention the gray plus signs - that is the feels-like temperature.

Then comes the humidity chart.

And the last one is precipitation. I decide whether to take an umbrella or not solely by this precipitation forecast.
